Our business has been a member of AMTECH since 2001.  This association is dedicated to enhancing the skill level and professionalism of marine technicians.  The goal of AMTECH is to improve the quality of marine service and repair industry wide.

Every marine business in the country, no matter how hard-working, educated or skilled, has a small number of people every year who complain on the Internet.  At The Boat Doctor, we take all complaints seriously and try to handle them in a fair manner to make sure our customers are happy.

Even with the best care and results, no one can make everyone happy. While you may find complaints on the Internet, it's essential to keep them in perspective. A handful of complaints may seem like a lot, but a handful among thousands of satisfied customers annually make it clear that the vast majority of The Boat Doctor’s customers are happy.

It may be helpful to look at the date the complaint was posted. Often, complaints live a long time online and blogs may be written by the same person over and over using different names, posting on a variety of sites or having friends post complaints to seem like it is coming from a variety of people, but some were never customers to begin with.

Who We Are

 Tim Brown is co-owner.  He has a wide variety of knowledge and experience (30+ years) in boat motor repair, specializing in Mercury, Mercruiser and Volvo Penta engines.  Tim is helpful in educating customers with tips on keeping their boats/motors maintained.  He is dedicated, hardworking and persistent.

Kathi Brown is co-owner.  Kathi wears many hats handling the bookkeeping, keeping the workflow coordinated, and specializes in parts.  Kathi has completed marine management, service writing training as well as outboard troubleshooting and electrical courses and stays abreast of what is happening in the marine industry.
